Welcome to this YouTube tutorial for beginners! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YouTube first launched on February 14th, 2005, and has since grown to become the second most visited website, after Google Search.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With over 2.5 billion monthly active users, there are many opportunities to boost your brand&#8217;s visibility and create content that provides resources, solutions, and entertainment to your audience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this YouTube tutorial for beginners, we will run through each step to create a YouTube channel from scratch, as well as provide tips and tricks for managing and growing your channel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-create-a-youtube-channel-nbsp\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Create_a_YouTube_Channel\"><\/span>How to Create a YouTube Channel&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone can watch YouTube videos with a Google Account, but without a YouTube channel, you cannot upload videos, comment, or make playlists.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can either create a YouTube channel through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>website version<\/strong><\/a>, or by downloading the mobile app, on <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/youtube-watch-listen-stream\/id544007664\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>i<\/strong><\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/youtube-watch-listen-stream\/id544007664\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">O<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/youtube-watch-listen-stream\/id544007664\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>S<\/strong><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.google.android.youtube&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Android<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then from here, you need to decide if you want to create a <strong>personal channel<\/strong> or a <strong>business channel<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For personal channels, only the owner will be able to manage this account using their Google Account. Business accounts can have multiple managers and owners.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-a-personal-channel-nbsp\">Creating a personal channel&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you decide to go the solo route, follow these steps to set up your channel:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sign in to YouTube on the web or mobile version.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on your profile picture, and then on <strong>Create a channel<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need to enter your personal information, and then check all the information is correct.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm and your channel will be created!&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-a-business-channel-nbsp\">Creating a business channel&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When creating a channel that reflects your brand, you can connect your channel to a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/accounts\/answer\/7001996?sjid=16740401414105130329-NA#zippy=%2Chow-brand-accounts-differ-from-regular-google-accounts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Brand Account<\/strong><\/a>. This allows for other users to manage the channel. Follow these steps to create your business channel:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sign in to YouTube on the web or mobile version.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Head to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/attribution_link?m=ext-hc-ytm-pe-1&amp;u=%2Fchannel_switcher\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>channel list<\/strong><\/a>, inside <strong>Settings<\/strong>, and under <strong>Account<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you want to create a new channel, select <strong>Create a new channel<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also create a channel for a Brand Account, by choosing the Brand Account from the list. If this Brand Account already has a channel, you cannot create a new one.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a channel name, and enter the details of your new channel. To do this, head to your channel settings, and then to the <strong>Account<\/strong> tab.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will see an option that says, <strong>Channel Administrators<\/strong>, which you can then manage all permissions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here you will see a list of all those users that manage or own the channel. In this section, you will also be able to add users, change permissions, and delete managers or owners.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are the account owner, you can invite users by clicking on <strong>Invite new users<\/strong>. You will need to enter their email address to send the invitation. After they accept the invitation, they will have immediate access to the channel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To clear things up, let\u2019s run through each of the roles in a YouTube channel:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Owners<\/strong> can control who manages the account, and they have the highest authority. There also must be one primary owner.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Managers <\/strong>can access the Google Services linked to the Brand Account however, they cannot add, manage roles, or delete users.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Communication managers <\/strong>have the same accessibility as managers however, they cannot use YouTube.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-customize-your-channel-nbsp\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Customize_your_Channel\"><\/span>Customize your Channel&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After setting up the basics of your channel, the next part of this YouTube for beginners tutorial is where you will establish your brand voice and imagery. These are all the different sections of YouTube.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-homepage-nbsp\">Homepage&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that your channel is established, and optimized, it\u2019s time to explore the app and see what options are available! When you first enter YouTube, you will see the homepage, which functions like a \u201cFor You\u201d page on other networks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You have the option to <strong>like, dislike, comment, and share<\/strong> YouTube videos. When clicking on the three-dot icon in the bottom right corner you have other options available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For YouTube videos, you can also:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Download<\/strong>: Only available for YouTube Premium members, this allows you to download videos to your computer or device.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clip<\/strong>: You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/metricool.com\/youtube-clip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>clip parts of videos<\/strong><\/a>, which you can then share across other platforms and apps.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep<\/strong>: This option allows you to save videos in your playlists. <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Report<\/strong>: If you find a video that has inappropriate content, you can report it by clicking on the flag icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show Transcript<\/strong>: If you want to add a word-for-word transcript, you can do so by clicking on this option.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-shorts-nbsp\">Shorts&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Underneath the homepage, you will see the Shorts option. YouTube Shorts are short-form video content. This works similarly to Reels or TikToks, where you can scroll through to watch and interact with videos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You have the option to <strong>like, dislike, comment, and share<\/strong> YouTube Shorts.&nbsp; When clicking on the three-dot icon in the bottom right corner, you have other options available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For YouTube Shorts, you can also:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Description<\/strong>: You can see the full Shorts description by clicking on this option.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Save to playlist<\/strong>: Add Shorts to your channel playlists with this option.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Subtitles: <\/strong>Add subtitles to the video by clicking on the Captions button.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t recommend this channel<\/strong>: If you don\u2019t want to see content for a specific channel anymore, select this option.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Report<\/strong>: If you find a video that has inappropriate content, you can report it by clicking on the flag icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Send feedback<\/strong>: Describe your feedback and send it to YouTube.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-subscriptions-nbsp\">Subscriptions&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inside this section, you will find all the latest videos from those channels you are subscribed to. Think of this as the \u201cFollowing\u201d section on other social networks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To subscribe to a channel, simply head to a specific channel or video, and you will see a <strong>Subscribe<\/strong> button.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-library-nbsp\">Library&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This last section is where you will see all your history including watched videos and Shorts, liked videos and Shorts, videos to watch later, and your playlists.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plus on the right side of the screen, you will see how many channels you are subscribed to, how many video uploads you have, and the number of likes you have left on other videos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-create-nbsp-nbsp\">Create&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although these next three sections aren\u2019t part of the main \u201cfeeds\u201d on YouTube, they are still important to mention. In the top-right corner, you will see a video camera icon with a plus sign in the middle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here you have the option to upload a video, go live, or create a post. If you want to upload a video or go live, this will take you to YouTube Creator Studio, where you can upload your video. To go live, you have the option to go live right now or schedule a later date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Creating a post will take you to the Community tab, where you can add text, video, or a poll to be posted to this section.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-notifications-nbsp\">Notifications&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next to the Create icon, you will see a bell icon, which is the Notifications section.
